Old data

Does MYOB intend for Account Right to continue accumulating data ad infinitum? Employees that ceased nine years ago cannot be deleted because of "journal entries" - why is there no facility to purge old records and data?

Re: Old data

Hi @brasstacks

Yes that is the current plan. MYOB has always lacked the ability to delete used cards and items. In the 'good old days' with v19 you could purge transactions and eventually delete the card/item. With the Purge function gone in AR2021, you will never be able to delete cards/items once used. Of course MYOB would point out you can start a new file.

If you right click on a card and select Card Actions, there is a Combine feature. Perhaps you can combine all of the old employees together and then delete all but that one combined? Just a thought.

FYI there is a 3rd party that can delete Cards/Items from AR2021 even if they have been used. They create one replacement card and then all cards that are deleted have all transactions linked to the one replacement card. Maintains database integrity minus a heap of cards. Cost is $275 for up to 5000 cards so only worthwhile if you have thousands to get rid of.

Regards

Gavin
