MYOB Essentials MUST be updated so that all reports can be exported to excel. It is just ridiculous that they don't!
Also the description field on the bank feed processing area should show on a report. Or if you can only use the "note" to shown on a report, move it so we don't have to have click on other areas!!!
With the recent update of product from LiveAccounts to Essentials I would like to suggest MYOB allows an option to export Contacts to an EXCEL spreadsheet.
Should client wish to review details of Suppliers & Customers they currently need to review individually via the product, far easier if they could export to an Excel spreadsheet and update via spreadsheet. Would also allow review of Inactive accounts then manage into Essentials.
Can this be considered in future upgrades?
The lack MYOB Essentials, hardcoppy backup support makes it imposable to comply with good practice proceedures and "backup compliance". Currently Myob goes down you loose access all your contact info that you cant backup.
The current Customer Report contains NAME, PHONE & EMAIL, this is just a joke. We need all info to conform with backup proceedures.
Honestly if it comes to typing out all this info agin into Spreedsheets i will be looking for other software that does the job in the cloud with hardcopy backup ability.
IIdealy a one click complete backup option would be ideal.
Would definitely agree. We are in the process of transitioning our business from a sole trader operation to a company structure - which requires two MYOB profiles. Yet all our customers and suppliers remain the same. Was searching online to try and figure out how to export contacts from our old MYOB profile to the new.... but clearly not an option and will all have to be done manually :( painful.
I use MYOB Essentials and i am looking to export my customer details so i can create a database of my customer details.
It seems a large oversight to not allow a business owner the option to export his customer details?

Hi Merchandisingli - run Reports - Contacts - Customers and print your report to a PDF File (using Cute PDF, pdfDocs, Acrobat or similar).
Then open your file in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Using its' Tools menu, you can convert it to Excel or Word, with their online converter (you'll need an annual subscription, which costs about $22 - but it's well worth it !).
As business owner, I need to manage/analyse data.
However, the reports can be exported only to pdf version which is not great.
Users should be able to export every single reports to Excel.
Absolutley agree with you KatieV. Having the ability to export ALL reports to excel should be a basic feature available.
Thank you for posting this - this is causing me so much frustration. Part of my role is to find the issues with clients reconcilitions but having to find ways around not being able to export is really annoying me.
Agree. The lack of this basic functionality is a major negative for this program.

Just wondering if MYOB Live has been looking into the following suggestions of improvement:
- having the option to export ALL reports to excel (not just the general ledger)
- having the reports open up within the web browser with the added capability of being able to drill in to accounts to review transaction as you can do in desktop versions of MYOB
- being able to run previous year comparison reports
Would be great to hear if these suggestions could be considered going forward!

Would be GOOD to get Jobs able to be combined in the same way that accounts can be combined.
Jobs Combining.
Jobs costing over PERIOD of job rather than only available over the financial year. A job may only be a few months and run from Jan to Apr not Jan to mar and Apr and then have to run in Excel to combine the preiods!
When using Essentials instead of Account Right I miss not being able to download reports into excel so I can use the info in other working papers rather than have to type it all into management reports.
I certainly would like to be able to generate the coding report from bank transactions in excel format to send to clients. It would save a lot of time having to copy and paste into and excel spreadsheet..
Just like AR live and Xero - would like to be bale to extract TB to Excel!@

What is it that you would like to export to Excel?
In the past I have ususally run the General Ledger detail report and exported that to Excel. The accountants I work with are happy with this, if they don't want their own log in to the business data.
Don't forget that there is already an option to export to an MYE file, but that file format may only work with Accountant's Office software.

From what I found this wasn't possible? Is that correct? And only way would be to convert the PDF after saving?

It looks like you are correct. The trial balance cannot be saved as an Excel file.
There are some big holes in Essentials and it looks like this is another one.
I also tried to run the General Ledger report as a summary without any details, but that is not an option either.

Can we please get all reports to have the possibly of being export to Excel.
This is with special mention to the Trial Balance. It creates a bit of a headache for accountnts to complete financial reports and tax returns so we find it hard to recommend this product.
Please enable Payroll and Sales Reports with capability to export to Excel - high on our list of requirements.
Hi Alijoy - to export an Essentials report (say the P&L), go to Reports \ Profit and Loss.
Next go to View As, click Export to see options to save te report in Excel or PDF format.
Under Options, you can choose Accrual mode (the traditonal way) or Cash mode (if you report your BAS by Cash).
P.S. If you have the free Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader, there's a handy tool for it.
Adobe Export PDF allows you to export a PDF to Word of Excel format, for an annual subscription of around AUD$35.
A very handy tool, that I often use.

It would be very helpful if we could get the same type of reports as AccountRight and be able export them in excel or tab-delimited format. The only reason I am not recommending this product to my clients is because I cannot get the reports I require.
I am finding this increasing difficult too. I would like to export 3 or 6 months of P&L's but have to manually enter from reports. Time consuming.
E.g. Receivables & payables with tax would be great to assist with reconciling GST
