Payroll: Ability to remove categories used on timesheets

I have some employees with 24+ payroll categories that I have to scroll through to use the correct one. Can't remove, hide or suspend as they have been used on a previous timesheet.

It's making processing timesheets very time consuming and increasing the risk of mistakes.

We use timesheets and have many Payroll categories depending on the age of the employee and weekend rates etc.  When they have a pay rate change we would like to exclude the old rates from the pay run.  This is not possible because we use timesheets.  MYOB has just advised it is a known difficulty. 

Could you please escalate this to be able to get rid of old payroll categories from an employees card file.

I have been a MYOB user for over ten years. I wish to offer a useful suggestion. When I am doing the pays for 38 people, it is quite annoying that when I open up the pay individual window, I cant delete previous categories that have been used. If we have an employee that joins us at 15 and is still with us at 20, I have five categories for 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 showing that I cant delete the previous ages. I can delete the public holidays off the pay window, so why cant I delete the previous ages?

I have been paying over 30 people for over 5 years and this problem has started about 12-18 months ago. If I deleted a category as they got older, it would still show up on their payslip with the total, but I would not have to scan through 5 age groups, each time I am paying someone. So I can have 5 age groups, 5 Saturday age groups, 5 Sunday age groups, 5 public holiday age groups. Please suggest to your it guys to have a serious look at

Hi, I have exactly the same problem as Judy005.  An inexperiened person set up MYOB before I started.  I don't use timesheets in MYOB as I use my own spreadsheets. Even though in the last financial year I purged them as suggested and now being in a new payroll year I am still unable to deselect payroll categories for the employees that were linked to timesheets.  This is frustrating as I end up with multiply categories when completing payroll as the more qualifications employees get the different payrates/categories they are given.  Our workers are all hourly based and this can lead to mistakes by putting the wrong hours into the wrong category.

As mentioned we hope to bring the ability to remove old payroll categories from (that have been used in timesheets) from employee cards. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.

Yes i too would like to remove payroll categories from individual employees.

I am subject to an award with multiple grades and when employees move between grades I want to remove the old categories (grades). If the categories aren't removed it is too easy to apply hours to an old grade and pay the emp[loyee the incorrect amount.

Yes, I am all for removing the payroll categories that are no longer essential to an employee.

I currently have an employee with both a wage and a salary pooping up every pay period. Each pay, I have to take the money off one. My only option is to create a new card for him. This I am doing right now before I can process the first pay for the new financial year.
