Setup: Filing cabinet for documents

Is MYOB ever going to development an attachment feature?  I have used a different program in the past where whilst entering in a Creditor's Invoice, i could scan the document to my computer, save it, then attach it to the program data for that invoice.  Came in really usefull with interstate offices where one needed to see the actual invoice rather than just the data  entry.  Also great for scanning associated quotes and documentation relating to the purchase of the goods.  Excellent too for us small business users who have the chance to actually run a 'paperless' office.

I like operating a paperless office, so will MYOB AccountRight Live be implementing the function to attach a PDF of receipts/invoices etc to Purchase or Spend Money entries?

It would be GREAT (and to compete with Xero) if AccountRight Live Plus could have the functionality to scan a copy of say a fuel receipt you can so that you are not having to keep the hard copy.

In addition it would be great to be able to attach a note, so that your account can see that note or vice versa.

These are features available on competition cloud based accounting that would seriously be FANTASTIC.

For Receipts

A mobile App Andriod/Apple that has the ability to take a picture of receipts and import into myob

The app would auto crop the picture import and store in the cloud or on local pc

and then the ability to allocate the receipt directly into myob or to a pending area for a bookkeeper to check ? Similar to a bank feed

The App would ask a few simple questions where you fill in the blanks

How you paid ? i.e. Credit Card, cash etc (Have the ability to only allow certain payment methods)

Amount?

Auto Fill Description? i.e. Woolworths Petrol (Have it remember previous descriptions to reduce data entry)

Select Expense Type? I.e. Fuel (From a drop down box)

Based on Expense Type it would select the appropriate expence account pre determined by the bookkeeper/accountant/business owner.

Where its not in the list they would select "Other" and Enter a expense description, It would need to be "Approved" by the Bookkeeper/owner who would allocate the correct expence account and once approved it would appear in the list for staff to use.

For Invoices

Have the ability to enable a prompt when entering supplier invoices that it will ask for it to be scanned

This could be from a picture from a mobile device like the above description

or a

Scan from a Scanner/MFD

Or by attaching a ecopy of the invoice that you already have.

For both options above Receipts and invoices, have the ability to generate a list that highlights receipts/invoices that dont have a pdf copy linked so it can be fixed

The ability to scan purchase invoices and other documents directly into the program would be really usefull. So you can retrieve and view any particular purchase invoice at any time without having to go and hunt through the mounds of paper copies filed.

As well as using MYOB for business I also use Reckon Personal Plus for my personal accounting which has this facility already and has had for a number of years.

For all myob products that are used  for small and large businesses; when reconciling accounts, we have the option  of adding comments under "memo". What if a new tab under memo could be added to upload all pdf files that are receipts , accounts or statements etc . This would give the accountant s all the necessary information and easy access to conduct tax assessments etc and you the ease to access information if required. The difficulty of putting your hands on a hard copy is eliminated. You would still have the hard copy filed but would this make accounting and booking keeping so much easier. Eg even businesses that use book keepers they could go directly to myob and check the entery directly against the pdf attached.

To me this makes great sense and I do know why myob will wait too long to act on this because it will give them the competitive edge on all other accounting software products availabe to the market.

I think it would be a really great tool if we could attach a document (like an Invoice or Receipt) to a transaction - this function is available in Xero and I would really appreciate it if it was available in MYOB as well.  I think that alot of other businesses (especially small businesses) would benefit from this feature.

It would be fantastic to be able to scan supporting documents that our debtors require and attach them to MYOB invoices in the program and then email from the program. This will also mean that the supporting documents are attached to the debtors and available when a query arise. 

At the moment we have to print the invoice out and scan seperately.

Greetings MYOB; I good process improvemnt would be to be able to attach a scanned document  or a word/ xl document to an entry during the approval process from bank feeds.

This would save heaps of paper files and give exacting records for IRD purposes.

Can you please give me feedback re this please.

 I note the oppostion ( Xero) has this facilty.
