As a small company the option of printing or emailing statments is a very valuable tool. However, after emailing the customers who provide you with an email address it would be considerably easier if the same customers did not then appear as an option on the "to be printed" Statement list. Currently you have to rely on your memory as to whom you have emailed. So my idea would be to have a default option as to "email or print statements".

When some customers have Email addresses and you want to email staements you select the "To be Emailed" tab.
The resultant list shows which customers have an email address and you can select accordingly.
The balance of statements then need to be printed and posted.
But when you select the "To be printed" tab there is no indication of which customers have email addresses making it difficult to select appropriate customers for printed statements.
Simple solution would be that if you selet the "To be Emailed" tab and selected a non email customer that the system would reroute that statement to the default printer.
Simpler option from MYOB perspective would be to use the same "to be emailed" screen which shows who has email addresses when you select the "To be Printed" tab.

Hi also if there was a window that opened (after pressing the to be emailed tab) to say that there was no email address on the card would be a time saver
Some indication on the to be printed list that the customer/supplier has an email address entered into the system would helpful, rather that having to switch back & forth between tabs.
I am going to vote for this as well but in the interim, you can set up identifiers for Print and Email and then filter on the identifier when you come to Print or Email the statements. Use the Advanced Filter settings.
As few users would have a complete list of client email addresses, AR doesn't seem to have the option to flag a statement as 'already printed/emailed' once it has been done within a month period. Or an option to tag a client to 'To be printed' or 'To be emailed' for statements, just you can with invoices.
Thoughts?
This would save a lot of time. We have some customers we email, some we fax and some we post.
It is really difficult to sort through statements to determine which have been sent out and which haven;t
Currently I am using the Identifiers Tab, but it is far from best solution.
Would really love to see this in the next update.
I'd like to see an option to select whether customers receive Statements via Email or Mail. I have a small number of customers that prefer their Statements to be emailed, but I find it difficult to remember which customers as it is only once a month.
Could there be an option to select Paper or Electronic for Statements and/or Invoices in the Customer Cards then a note of which preference each customer has next to their name in the Print/Email Statements screen?

Had a very similar situation here, had to go through ALL 1100+ customer based & place in 1 of 2 identifiers (I labelled them P = Print & E = Email) now I just have too select which identifier in 'Advanced Filters' to send statements. Not perfect but it works (for me).

Currently clicking on the Print/Email Statement button the curser lands on the Print tab requiring a further click onto the Email tab.
Hardly anyone prints Staataements these days so the default tab should be Email
Also, would be good with "print/email invoices" as well.

I want to be able to email Statements without having to tick each client who has an email address. I have over 1000 customers and about half have email addresses that they wish to receive their invoices and statements by email. When you send the invoices they go to the email addresses but when you send the statements you have to tick each one individually.

It presently has 33 votes (including mine) and is currently "Under consideration" and it has attracted more votes than this one which had been put forward 4 months earlier on 3/12/2013.
Please show your support for it by adding your comments to that "new idea" then vote for it by clicking its "+ Vote" icon. The more votes it gets the greater the chance it will be selected for implementation.

Hi, Im new to this but seems that invoices are really well divided between print/email but when it comes to statement doing end of month it has all customers under print tab and all under email so you have to sort out who is who twice. Surely i cant be the only one annoyed by that? Is there a fix for this?
Hi BrettW , a workaround is to add identifiers to all customer cards to indicate print/email statements, then select one identifier or the other when sending statements out. Customer cards can be exported as a text file then opened/edited in Excel, then re-saved and imported to help this process. Then remember to add identifiers to any new customer cards in future. .

I would like to see MYOB have a feature where you can select if a customer has their monthly statment emailed or printed. Currently we have over 1000 customers with about a two thirds to one third split on email and printed statements.
Each month we have a check list of email and printed statements for all customers and manually check each one to be printed, then go back and do same process for emailed statements. This is a time consuming job and some customers can easily be missed being sent a statement.
I see in the latest update that there has been this option included for remittance advices being emailed or printed. Why not for customer statements?
The way I worked around this is to put (p) or (f) p= print or f= fax in brackets after the customers name
we did this when email first came in - have since taken all the (e) out as this is now the usual way to send!
In card file under selling details there is currently a selection for invoice delivery could one not be added for statement delivery so you could select email only or print only so when I go to print statements the ones that have already been emailed don't print out or have to manually deselect which takes up so much time when you have hundreds of statements to do.
I totally agree - MYOB has options on the invoices - why not on the statements?
