The following error code was returned on the ATO response on a rejected wages file sent to ATO through STP:
ATO error code: CMN.ATO.AUTH.001
Does anyone know what this means and how we can fix it please?

I had the same error on Friday, as did at least one other forum user. That code means your ABN is incorrect but, if like myself and the other user, your ABN is correct I think it’s an issue with the ATO. I rang Friday and was told they were having system issues and while the operator was trying to look into it for me, their systems crashed again. I couldn’t lodge BAS’s or get into the Business Portal either.
I can’t check on it now as my workplace is closed this week for holidays so I’m not sure whether it will fix itself or we will need to get the ATO to fix it.
It may pay to give them a call.
