Over the last 12 months we chatted with hundreds of clients and partners around Australia and New Zealand. And we heard you loud and clear—you want a snappier AccountRight that brings back the familiar data-entry workflows that made ‘Classic’ versions of AccountRight so enjoyable to use.

So, from this AccountRight release onwards, we've given priority to optimising:

  • Speed, like the time it takes to do a bank rec
  • Workflows, such as the number of steps and effort required to record a sale.

And we've already had some great results. For example, we’ve sped up the Spend Money and Reconcile Accounts windows, and improved the performance of high-use reports (some are now more than 70% faster). It's also easier to enter dates throughout AccountRight, and you can do much more using just your keyboard (e.g. you can now record sales without having to pick up your mouse).

To help Aussie businesses keep up with the ATO's requirements, we've also updated the Payment Summary Assistant (Plus only) and those in the building and construction industry can now report taxable payments to the ATO (Standard and Plus only).

Want to know more? We have more detail about what’s changed in 2013.1 at our AccountRight Help Centre.

You can also see what’s changed in previous AccountRight releases at our AccountRight Release History.

Version 2.0
  • Hi all,

We have discovered a potential issue within the AccountRight 2013.01 update released yesterday for split payment and spend money transactions.

Our product development team is currently investigating the issue. Their number one priority to resolve it ASAP.

We will update this post when we have determined the cause and resolution of the issue. We estimate an update within the next three hours.

  • Hi all,

Earlier today we discovered an issue within the AccountRight 2013.01 update released yesterday afternoon to clients. This affects split payment and spend money transactions.

Our product development team has investigated the issue, know how to fix it, and are now working on delivering this fix as their top priority.

We will update clients and Partners about when the fix will be available later today.

To identify whether you are impacted, please ask yourself these questions:

    1.    Have you created spend money transactions where one transaction uses the same account on multiple lines? (ie. you’ve split the spend)

    2.    Have you created any spend money transactions where the GST was more or less than 10%?
If you have created such transactions, please follow the two steps below as a work around until the fix is available.

If you are not sure whether you have created such transactions, then run a trial balance report for the month of April. If all balances, then run the same report for May. If that doesn’t balance, then it appears you are affected.

If you are affected, here’s what you do to work around the issue prior to receiving the fix:

    1.    Use purchases instead of spend money, and ensure you setup a supplier card to use purchases. This workaround is suitable for AccountRight Standard and AccountRight Plus clients.

    2.    Enter two spend money transactions – This workaround is suitable for AccountRight Basics clients.

If you have any issues completing the steps above, please contact the MYOB client services centre via 1300 555 123 and we will be happy to assist.

We apologise for any inconvenience – we understand the importance of your business accounting needs.

    All the best,

  • Hi all,

Our product development team has now built the fix for the issue and it’s undergoing rigorous testing. We intend to deliver it for download in the next few days.

When it is ready we will email all clients who downloaded the update. We will also update this Community Forum with details about how to obtain the update.

To identify whether you are impacted, please ask yourself the above questions or follow the above steps and if you need a workaround refer to the above instructions.

Again, if you have any issues completing these steps please contact us on 1300 555 123 and we will be happy to assist.

  • Hi all,

Thanks for your patience while our product development team addressed the issue and apologies for any inconvenience.

If you used the previous version of 2013.1 and have a spend money transaction that has been posted incorrectly, simply update to the new version, open the spend money transaction and re-save the transaction. The posted amount will be automatically fixed.
