We were simply testing the access level of the user in question, before giving the user access to the file. No MYOB entries were made. While trying to delete user, it does not allow stating audit trail exists. Why this does not work for us. 1) These tips that you are giving are something we were already aware of. 2) Making user inactive does not work as we do not have any other email (expensive for us to set up new one) to offer and it won't let us create new user with same email. We are a small business and cannot switch the email without assurance it will work. 3) From your replies there is no guarantee the solution proposed will work (as we just doing the same thing again), UNLESS YOU HAVE CHECKED THE FILE REFERENCE SENT TO YOU THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE AND HAVE DONE SOME IMPROVEMENTS/CHECKED THE FILE, WE SEE NO POINT IN SETTING UP ANOTHER EMAIL TO GO THROUGH THIS CYCLE WHICH TOOK MORE THAN 4 WEEKS ALREADY. Can you please reply to specific query: HAVE YOU GOT THE PRIVATE MSG AND CHECKED THE FILE, before we try again. What has changed to give us confidence that it will work this time. We have two serial numbers migrated from AR to Business Pro. In the one for which I have contacted you, when we added a new user, after migration, exactly as per instructions, it does not work...payroll is also shown when not ticked. However, for the other file, also migrated from AR to Business Pro, a user set up with similar priveleges, seems to work and in this case it was set up before migration. So it may have something to do with the migration process or something more complicated? THE SOLUTION DOES NOT WORK. THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG. 1) My first post said it all. 2) I tried using the instructions on your link. It did not work. So we are exactly where we were. 3) This time I have taken screen shots and would like someone to go deeper and resolve this. How can I send the screen shots? Two points. 1) This does not help as I tried all this before my first post in the forum. Before giving login details to the new employee, I tried it myself using the new login details and email. It did not work. The person gets full access including payroll even though it was not ticked. Her supervisor also checked it on different browsers/home pc and still same problem, as if the functions we ticked on the user section were completely ignored. We also waited few days thinking it would take time to update. Still gave full access after a wait of two days. 2) I will recheck again after 6th March when I am back from my travels. I will go quiet till 6th March. So I am unable to accept this as a solution yet. Before I posted the comment, I looked online and found that User set up notes were only shown for AR files. We also have AR files for different companies and the User control screens there are something that I am familiar with. When we try to use those notes for the Business Pro files, I cannot even find the screen mentioned in the notes. I believe I have properly set up the new user in Business Pro as far as I can see. So when you send me the link, can you please send the one for Business Pro. Thanks. Assigned User Roles in MYOB Business Pro Not working 1) Have added a new User for Online Business Pro access. Ticked only Sales, Purchase and Banking. Before handng over the login keys to the new employee, I checked the login using the new credentials and find that they have access to Payroll and everything else. All existing users are owners or Accountant with full access. So could not copy. Do not want to give Payroll access to the new bookkeeper. There are other issues and details but the above is urgent. Mentioning one more issue: 2) When an employee leaves they use the generic business email. In another Business Pro, we deactivated and existing employee and copied to a new employee name. It will not accept the same email. Email address showing "in use" even after I had removed access earlier and want to give access to different person with same email I removed access to a user. But want to reinstate access to a different perons, with the same email. MYOB keeps telling me that email in use, even though there is no listing of that user and email in the users list, since the time I removed access. How to solve this? Solved
