Agree 100% on all your points Re: Secure Invoicing Hello Mike_MYOB Community Manager Interesting you only touch briefly on my question of "Turnover" and reference as your response "Secure/Online payments requires KYC (Know your customer) verification, this is where business identification, and turnover are required. And although most customers already have a direct debit agreement with MYOB, these are typically a 'fixed amount' agreement for the monthly subscription. Whereas (if used) the Online payments is a variable amount each month and therefore we are requesting an updated direct debit agreement" My response to this would be for MYOB to actually read the AUSTRAC Customer identification: Know your customer (KYC) which you yourself reference.. I have posted a link to help with this. https://www.austrac.gov.au/business/core-guidance/customer-identification-and-verification/customer-identification-know-your-customer-kyc I have also contacted AUSTRAC for clarification. They said that there is nowhere under the ACT that require the gaining of turnover figures to identify a customer. So, the KYC reference does not legitimize the gaining of that information. MYOB gaining that information is for your internal practice only and nothing at all to do with KYC. AUSTRAC also outlined the use of the external validation practice MYOB are using with the third party.. We as customers have not agreed to our information being used by a third party, and many MYOB responses have been that they don't retain the information just validate it, how do they validate the turnover? And why ask for it if MYOB don't retain that information.?. "Whereas (if used) the Online payments is a variable amount each month and therefore we are requesting an updated direct debit agreement"... for the users that don't ever intend to use that option the requirement should not be FORCED on them to continue to email an invoice, and MYOB should not hold those updated direct debit agreement as a result. MYOB has shown their "Take it or leave it" attitude with these changes and as such I feel I have no options and have been directed towards OAIC and AFCA to put in formal complaints against MYOB for the practice they are pursuing and forcing businesses to comply with. I will continue to help all my clients to fight these forced changes, none of them are happy and I some have already moved away from MYOB after more than 20 years. Re: Secure Invoicing Hi Mike_MYOB ..for a secure payment feature????? How exactly does the business turnover have anything what so ever, valid or reasonable, to do with secure payments, I think we would all love to know how and why... No explanation so far from the standard party line script from MYOB gives any legitimate reason for needing those details.. a direct debit authority has also been given to have a subscription. MYOB is being challenged for asking for details that don’t make any sense within the secure invoicing platform and as consumers we have that right.. MYOB have taken away an important function we are already paying for.. give people the option to make it “secure” and if they don’t want that option, let them continue using their software the way they have been and have been paying for.. MYOB don’t care about their loyal customers that genuinely question the validity of these questions and requirements. Re: Secure Invoicing I’m interested in the answer as well Simona.. the truth has to be it has nothing to do with security Re: Invoice PDF attachments They won't, we can't even email a payment receipt and have been asking year after year after year.. Re: Secure Invoicing They won't explain, well they do but its the scripted party line of security they are hiding behind. I did however get a call back from someone supposedly higher up that agreed that the questions being asked are killing 2 birds with one stone, whilst being (cough cough) flexible and allowing us to opt out of the secure invoicing after giving them all the information they have no right to obtain from us in the first place!!. Turnover.. seriously, how does that relate to security in anyway.. And bank details.. they already have that. Re: Secure Invoicing Agree Wendy, Yes, you get the standard response from MYOB about privacy.. Giving that information seems to go against privacy, they aren't a bank, they are a software company, and in the process take away the right to email invoices when we are already paying for that as part of the service they provide. Not only is the process to validate to send invoices via MYOB over the top, have you seen what the customers get from you if you do the secure invoicing. One of our trades has validated, and when you open the email, you are presented with 2 green options to "PAY SECURELY" and small print to "view your unpaid invoices", to view and save or print the invoice you click on "view your unpaid invoices" and wait while authenticating your session scrolls around (image doing this every time for 10 invoices or more), then a list of unpaid invoices appears, hope you have taken note of the one you want to print off.. But wait, don't click on the little box on the side next to said invoice, the PAY INVOICE green button shows up again.. no, click on the invoice number and it authenticates again and then click on "View full invoice" to download, print and another option I can't remember, and at that point finally you can print save etc the invoice.... Can only imagine the annoyed customers opening up a lot of invoices sent to them in individual emails... MYOB has made it harder so maybe the Print to PDF from us is easier than this option anyway.. Absolutely crazy changes from MYOB.. no wonder people are leaving a system that worked and wasn't broken. Re: Single Touch Payroll - Updated Event or Payroll Event Hello Christiev Did MYOB reply to you? What you mention is happening all the time, clients reverse an incorrect pay event and click the updated and the ATO STP details will not match. From what I have read, a lot of the information being given is not correct. I am very interested in what MYOB has to say. Employees pay with a dollar value shows in STP reporting as zero Hope someone can help me. Whilst trying to complete the BAS, I noticed the figure on the portal doesnt match the Quartly figure in MYOB Essentials. Even though in MYOB the pay shows with a dollar value, STP reporting shows zero. How do I fix this. My thought is that if I reverse the pay in MYOB that will make things worse. Because if the pay reverses and uploads with a dollar value, my figures will be out even if I put in another pay. I have looked all through the Chats and Forums and cant find any solution. Re: Emailing Customer Receipts To not have the ability to email receipts to Customers is severly slowing down our productivity. If we can email Customer Invoices and Statements, why not receipts? Customers expect a receipt. I was very disappoointed to see after the latest update todaym this function was still missing. I have to print each invoice as PDF, go into the card file for each customer indiviually and copy the email address to an email and then attach the PDF receipt. So time consuming. Please Please Please give us this much needed functionality.
