Slightly different this month - I am putting out a quarterly review of the forum instead of monthly. (In part because I did not publish the August monthly review) There are some good signs for our community in here around new content being created, the number of views and comments some of our popular is getting and new members registering. Google AI summaries are often giving people answers without needing to visit a page, so having such strong traffic to this forum helps to show the importance of connection, either with other customers, or with MYOB. We will continue to work on having more announcements, more content and more discussions to make this forum the best ever. Q3 has been busy for the forum. In part due to Australian end of financial year, but also due to our efforts to better promote the forum and its content to our customers. We had a 28% increase in visits to the forum and a 6% increase in views compared to quarter 2. Hey everyone! We announced that we're starting a new Ideas Exchange on the Community Forum a few weeks ago. You can find the post here if you missed it! As we get closer to the launch of our new Ideas Exchange, the current instance for MYOB Business and AccountRight has now been set to read-only mode for the next two weeks. During this time, you’ll be able to view existing posts, you will not be able to vote and comment on them. This has been done so that we can move your insights to our product teams before we go live with the brand new one! November 12th will see our brand new Ideas Exchange for MYOB Business and AccountRight go live! Once this goes live, the old Ideas Exchange will no longer be visible on the Forum. You can expect to see 30-50 of the top trending ideas that have been posted and voted on by our community members over the years to be reposted on the new one. Just because we're starting fresh doesn't mean we're forgetting it all! We've been working hard to ensure we can formalise a strong product feedback loop between this community and our product teams once we go live with the new Ideas exchange. This ensures that your feedback, ideas, votes and comments are all considered by our product and development teams. Super excited to see you all there! Let me know if you have any further questions! Hi everybody, Over the last 4-6 months, I am hearing and seeing a lot of frustration from Community Members about changes MYOB is making. I want to acknowledge that frustration, let you know what I'm doing about it, and explain why I'm now taking a firmer stance on enforcing our community guidelines. Guidelines Enforcement Our Community Forum Guidelines exist to ensure this remains a helpful space for everyone. I believe customers need a space to provide feedback on our business - both positive and constructive. However, inflammatory and repetitive posts make it harder for that feedback to reach decision-makers effectively. Inflammatory posts can contain things like: Excessive use of CAPS LOCK Encouraging others to leave MYOB Inflammatory and misleading words like 'grift, blackmail, BS' Curse words (these are typically edited out but should not be used to begin with) Abusing moderators or community members Why These Guidelines Matter I'm in this job because I think it's important to give customers space to tell us what's great, and what isn't about our business (including the changes we make). MYOB is continuously investing in, and improving as business evolves, this leads to a lot of changes. Your feedback is crucial to getting that balance right. But that feedback is most valuable when it's specific, constructive, and respectful. When discussions become heated or repetitive: Others can't find useful information The environment becomes unwelcoming Decision-makers are less likely to take feedback seriously Our time goes to moderating members instead of helping resolve issues What Will Happen Going Forward Effective immediately: Posts breaching guidelines will be removed with a warning Further breaches = three-month suspension Continued breaches after suspension = permanent block How to Make Your Feedback Count Let me illustrate with an example. Imagine this made-up music streaming service called "TuneTime" has just announced they're charging $14 for each international song played using their streaming service. Here are two ways to provide feedback: ❌ Not So Helpful: "TuneTime has LOST THEIR MINDS with this DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!! $14 PER SONG?!?! What's next, charging us for BREATHING OXYGEN while we listen?? The CEO must be building a GOLD-PLATED YACHT with our money!!! I'm cancelling RIGHT NOW and telling EVERYONE I KNOW to do the same!!! #TuneTimeIsOverParty" When this kind of feedback comes in, we can tell the team that you're really upset, that it's hurting your business, and that you're saying it a lot in different places. But it doesn't give me much to work with in terms of proving what's causing that impact or how widespread the problem is. ✅ Helpful: "The new $14 fee per international song on TuneTime creates three specific challenges for my café business: FACTS: We play background music for 8 hours daily, averaging 160 songs. About 70% (112 songs) are international, meaning our daily cost would jump from $15/day to $1,583/day. IMPACT: This 10,453% increase would cost us $577,795 annually, exceeding our entire annual profit. We'd either need to stop playing music or raise all menu prices by approximately 15%. RESOLUTION: Could TuneTime consider a business subscription model with unlimited plays for a reasonable monthly fee? Or perhaps a tiered pricing structure based on business size/revenue?" Now we can still convey that it's upsetting, but I also have cold, hard facts that are very difficult to argue with. When multiple community members add their voices with additional specific examples like: "I run a gym where we play 300 songs daily" "I'm a wedding DJ and this would increase my client costs by $2,800 per event," This creates a powerful dataset that strengthens the argument significantly. Join the Constructive Conversation I encourage you to share your experiences with our software, and with changes that are introduced by MYOB. By using this Facts-Impact-Resolution format, your specific examples help us build a stronger case for improvement. Thank you for being part of our community, and for your understanding as we work through these changes together648Views0likes4CommentsWelcome to our new Ideas Exchange!

Hey everyone! Here with some exciting news about our Ideas Exchange on the Community Forum. Our Ideas Exchange is a place for you to make suggestions to improve our software and to vote on other members ideas that matter to you. It provides a great space for community feedback that our product teams can use to identify and prioritise improvements to our software. Earlier in the year. we upgraded our Community Forum and asked for feedback from you all on what else we could do to improve. After reading through it, we've identified a few opportunities to enhance your experience. What we’ve heard: Why would I post in the Ideas Exchange? It’s not going to do anything. There are so many ideas from years ago that have never been acknowledged or actioned. Does MYOB even listen to or read these ideas? I would rather MYOB tell me if it's going to be done or not than sit around for years with no update. What we’ve done: We’re creating a new Ideas Exchange that will be easier for you to post, find and vote on ideas that matter to you. 50 of the top trending ideas that have been posted and voted on by our community members over the years will be reposted in our new Ideas Exchange. Just because we're starting fresh doesn't mean we're forgetting it all! We’ve read through your posts in our current Ideas Exchange and have been working to ensure your insights are brought across to our teams and valued in our ongoing conversations to improve. We’ve been able to reignite and formalise a process that will ensure we have a strong product feedback loop with you all and our product teams once we go live with our new Ideas Exchange. What you can expect: October 30th: Our current Ideas Exchanges for MYOB Business and AccountRight will be set to read-only. We will not be accepting new ideas for the next 2 weeks whilst we work on moving all your existing suggestions to our product teams. If any ideas come to mind during this time, please keep a note of them. We’ll have a new one for you to share them in soon! 12th of November: Our new Ideas Exchanges will go live with reposted trending ideas visible for you all to vote on. You will also be able to begin posting your ideas as soon as it's live! Let me know if you have any further questions! Cheers, Amanda446Views7likes7CommentsWelcome to the new Community Forum!

July was a successful month for the MYOB Community Forum as we continue to work towards making the forum an incredible resource to our staff, visitors, members and customers. July is always a busy month with the end of financial year in Australia so naturally we saw some increase in things like visits to the forum and posts made. A quick shout out to a couple of MYOB Staff who jumped in to help answer questions. The return of SupportNoteGuy and Ron_T was great to see. Together these two made 87 replies/answers to questions in the community. Thank you!
