AccountRight Classic v19 and earlier are retired

We want to let you know that AccountRight v19 and earlier versions will be retired from 28 February 2026.

Key dates:
  • 10 December 2025:
    The ability to complete self-service upgrades from AccountRight classic (v19 or earlier) to a current version of AccountRight will end.
  • 28 February 2026:
    AccountRight v19 and all earlier versions will become read-only after your next file confirmation. You can view historical data but will not be able to make any changes to your AccountRight classic file.

    To continue working, you will need to subscribe and move your data to a supported MYOB AccountRight product. View MYOB plans and pricing

  • Self-serve upgrade before 10 December 2025: You can upgrade to the latest version using the built in AccountRight upgrade tool before December 2025. After this, self-service upgrades from AccountRight classic will no longer be available.
  • After 10 December 2025, migrate your data: You can submit your file to migrate your data to the newest AccountRight and choose to work on desktop, online, or both — whatever suits your workflow.   Click here to start your migration.

 

  • Alternately you can switch to an MYOB Business plan that suits you. Our team members are available to discuss your options and assist with data migration.

 

Why are we making this change?

The end of AccountRight Classic support was official in September 2019. Since then, MYOB ceased to provide features, patches, compliance updates, or product support for the software. This included updates for newer Windows operating systems. AccountRight Classic is built on technology that no longer meets current security, performance, and compliance standards. Our focus is investing in developing newer technologies that better align with the evolving needs of our customers.

  • Hi Mike,

    We need to understand more about this move and all contact we had with MYOB support was not helpful. We are currently on a subscription for AR Live Premier with Payroll (offering 1 online file) and have been for the last 10-15 years. One of your sales decided to expire our subs but has been reinstated although not quite sure if is still the same.

    We will convert our files to the latest version of AR but will keep them offline (we purchased 65 files and have around 55 active).  What are our options? Under current subscription we can have unlimited files offline. Just want an honest answer not a sale pitch.  Thank you

      The latest version of AccountRight still allows you to choose if you'd like to work offline or online. More information on the differences can be found on this page. It would be best to chat with our billing team to discuss your options, I can see your currently in contact with them now and have reached out to them to follow up on your questions.

      For future, if you're unsure about your current subscription details, you can contact the billing team via your My Account dashboard. They'll be able to take a look and help clear any confusions. Alternatively you can give us a call on (AU) 1300 793 427 or (NZ) 0800 150 008. 

  • Just wondering if the MYOB Business Basics V1 is being discontinued? I have received notification that Account Right Classic V19 is being discontinued and has to be upgraded but I have not received anything relating to Business Basics.

      MYOB Business Basics V1 doesn't require confirmation so will continue to be able to be used.

      Hi, we still using MYOB Business Basics version 1.5, and we having problem do activation, can help?

        I don't think there is a Business Basics v1.5 in Australia or NZ so if you are in a different country, you may have to contact your local provider. Also, you say Activation - do you mean Confirmation? If so, there is a third party provider (FGH Tables) that may be able to help.
