Prepare electronic payments

I have a transaction that was on the bank statement on 13/1/25 and matched with EP590, which Dr electronic clearing so everything looks ok.

However a bill had been created to pay the invoice on 21/1/25 - later?

This entry Dr expense and Dr and Cr Trade Creditors (in and out) before  crediting Electronic clearing. So everything looks ok.

BUT in selecting prepare electronic payments the bill payment to supplier on 21/1/25 still appears for selection.

Why does it appear when it appears to have been cleared on 13/1/25?

    Hi DavidCM,

Thanks heaps for sending through the Excel file, it makes it a lot easier to see the 13/1/2025 bank transaction and the 21/1/2025 bill side by side. What’s happening here is more about how the payment was entered than the bank feed itself. A bill will only show in Prepare Electronic Payments if the Pay Bills transaction was entered as an electronic payment to the Electronic Clearing account. That’s what looks to have happened with the 21/1/2025 payment, so it’s still popping up in Prepare Electronic Payments even though you can already see EP590 dated 13/1/2025 on the bank statement.

If the 21/1/2025 payment is just a double-up of what was actually paid on 13/1/2025, you can delete or reverse that Pay Bills transaction so it drops off the list. If it’s the correct one, include it in your next electronic payment run and, once that’s processed, it’ll disappear from Prepare Electronic Payments. If you’re still having trouble getting it to match up, make sure to reach out to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account and they’ll be happy to give you a hand.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
