Spoke to MYOB support. The issue has been resolved. Was relating to "Other Income" - Category1.

The return had and amount in code E -Assessible bal adj when you stop holding a dep asset.

Had to put a zero in the "Related to financial investment" & "Related to rental property" fields.

    Hi there madelaine,

It's important to fix any errors before submitting the return again. With the error code CMN.ATO.GEN.XML01, this rejection error is commonly seen when the return exceeds the maximum number of 10 foreign income worksheets. If this is so, please consolidate the foreign income worksheets, with the 10th entry being the combined amount of the remaining amounts. Group the remaining records by the income type. Also, the error code CMN.ATO.GEN.XML03 means there's an invalid character somewhere in your payroll information in MYOB. Invalid characters are "[]!! # $% *;; = @ <>\ _ { } ^~`". You'll need to check for (and remove) any invalid characters in your employee cards and payroll category names. You can also check out this link.

    Best regards,

    Doreen

    Hi Doreen,

I have the exact same message when lodging an individual tax return. The original return did not have any foreign income and I have checked and there is no schedule for foreign income. I have checked all payroll information & there is no invalid characters.

I tried deleting the payroll prefill data and entering payroll information manually. I still get the same errors.

The link above did not work when I clicked on it.

    Any other solutions?

    Hey JJ5,

Great step for checking the payroll information and making sure that there are no invalid characters. That might be a tough time lodging an individual tax return due to persistent errors, even after deleting and manually entering payroll information. For it to be resolved, you'll need to get in touch with our support team directly. You can reach them on live chat via MOCA through myob.com/support or by submitting a case via My Account.

    Best regards,

    Doreen
