Running MYOB18 using windows 11

I need to be able to access my MYOB 18. I recently upgraded to windows 11. My IT guy was able to design a work around which still allowed me to access MYOB18 but in last few days windows must have done some sort of update and this work around no longer works. I now get the message "This app can't run on your PC Access is denied". I need to be able to access the data in this file and continue to use this. How can I do that? Is there another MYOB product I can purchase that will read these files

I don't really see how that will helps as the issue is the compatability with MYOB18 with Windows 11. I need to be able to upgrade my MYOB 18 to a version that is compatible with Windows 11 but still be able to access my data files

    Hi janinedm

This is not a compatibility issue - speak to your IT guy.

Otherwise the only 'upgrade' path which allows you to use your existing company file is to upgrade to AR2023 - the latest desktop version of MYOB.

Thats interesting because MYOB told me it was a compatability issue with windows 11

Are you able to run MYOB18 on windows 11?

If so how do i get around this error message

I had setup a shortcut that was working until about a week ago when windows must have done an upgrade

    Hi janinedm

MYOB want you to upgrade so they can charge you an annual subscription fee. Just because an application hasn't been 'certified' as compatible, doesn't mean it won't work. Just that MYOB don't guarantee it will work.

    Yes.

As I said, best to speak with your IT guy about this specific issue which is different to the issue they may have fixed earlier.

Alternatively do an internet search on the specific error message and you will see that this is not limited to MYOB v18.

    Regards

    Gavin

    Hi janinedm,

Thank you for the response and for your patience. The only option we have is to speak with the IT professionals to rectify this issue as we no longer have information if it will fully work on windows 11.

Thank you gavin12345 for your assistance with this and we appreciate your help.

Please let me know if you need further help.

    Kind regards,

    Sai

So is MYOB able to offer me an actual solution rather than random people on this forum?

    Hi janinedm,

Thank you for your patience. This is an old product, that's why we don't have any information for any workarounds for now or if it's guarantee if it will work.

Please let me know if you need further help.

    Kind regards,

    Sai
