Accessing client file on Mac and Windows systems simultaneously

I have a new staff member who works remotely on a mac whilst I am on windows.  Is it possible for us to both work on a client file using the different platforms?

    Hi Sam5082

Thank you so much for your post. Yes you can access your company file from any computer and have multiple users on at the same time. And also, If the company file is online, you can access it from any computer that has the latest version of AccountRight installed. If your file's online, you can access it via any device with an internet browser, like your computer (PC or Mac), tablet or a smartphone.

Feel free to post again we're happy to help.
    Regards,
    Earl

      Hi Earl_HD

I was hopeful when I read your reply to @Sam5082 that we would be able to easily access our file on our MAC, but alas, that is not the case. We are told that AccountRight is windows only. We understand that "Parallels" can be installed on the Mac in order to access, but have found that to be very "clunky".

When will we be able to log on to our files on a Mac, directly, as suggested in your response to Sam's post?

      Regards

      Gail

Hi GailMH , in defence of virtual hosting software such as Parallels, I can say that my current work computer is a Macbook Pro 2019 and I have been running a Windows 10 operating system on it, and its predecessors, hosted by VMWare, for about 10 years. Properly set up, a Mac desktop or sidebar icon can be selected, and a Windows program will open as if it is just another Mac program. Or Windows can be opened first as usual, it's up to you. Either way, Mac and Windows programs can be run concurrently.

For good performance, the computer does require a large RAM memory, and the allocation of memory to the virtual machine needs to be carefully selected.

Along with VMWare, a Windows OS and MS Office (for emailing or exporting reports to Excel) need to be purchased.
