Yes, you can still approve leave on teams app even without the timesheets. You just need to manually put the number of hours on leave when your doing pay run  it will be approved by the approving manager.  You can check on this Help Articles: Set up Leave  for more information

Does the approved leave show anywhere when doing the pay run so you know to manually add it to that person?

Thanks again for your post. 

The approved leave will not automatically appear on the pay run.  You will need to manually enter the approved leaves on the timesheet to be able to appear on the pay run.

Where do we view what leave is approved and being taken?

You may view the leave that was approved Using the MYOB Team admin portal and leave taken will be viewed in reporting in the leave balance detail.
