We appreciate the update and the link to check further updates on the Status page - but why is the status of this issue showing as UP? Should it not be AFFECTED or DOWN?
How much of a priority is this to MYOB, when the update states it will be within the "coming months"?
I am sure I speak for many users when I say that I am concerned the release of the updated app may be deemed irrelevant and not eventuate.
This is disruptive to many customer's workflow, please don't underestimate how many of us rely on the Capture app as part of our standard procedure. I am sure if MYOB will check the download numbers in the app store, they will see how many users there really are. Please do not let the small number of customers who actually use the Community and comment on threads such as this, cause MYOB into assuming this app is not an important part of their product offering to their customers.
YES, there is a workaround in that we can use the web platform to upload screenshots and photos. HOWEVER, this must NOT be considered a fix or suitable alternative. Here is a crude summary to demonstrate:
Capture App =
-Fast!
-Stay logged in without auto log out, security issues or 2FA
-Can be set up on employee's device without them needed to log into web platform to upload a single receipt
-Images are automatically converted to scan style and auto cropped - very simple and professional, legible for accountant to check and keeps sizing as large as possible for attachments in MYOB
Web Platform In Tray Uploads =
- Cumbersome
-Must log in every time, 2FA, log in times out if need to multi-task
-Cannot be set and go employee's device, inconvenient or impossible for one off receipts and off site uploads
-The "photo" option is just that - a photo of the document, which is not automatically cropped or given a professional scanned quality which was standard in the Capture app. It makes the fine print less legible when viewing attachments in MYOB.
PLEASE, MYOB, don't let our Capture app fall through the cracks! Please keep the reinstatement of the Capture app a priority on the tech table!
