Hi C_F,
Thank you for your post. Please allow me to extend you a warm welcome to the Community Forum. I hope you find plenty of information in this forum.
We appreciate you taking the time to raise your concern with us. We are sorry that you are having difficulties in entering purchases and receiving an error message. In this matter, a timeout error is typically caused by AccountRight being asked to process more information than it can handle in a particular period. In some instances, this error can be overcome by reducing the amount of information being processed, such as using a smaller date range. You can click on this link for more information about a timeout Extender. This is designed to extend the amount of time AccountRight allows before throwing a timeout error.

Thanks Celia_B for the follow up.
We had issues when entering purchases when the item was an inventory item. It stopped happening for a week or so and started happening again this week. We can enter as normal today.
Not sure why this is happening. I called support and they could not offer a reason why it was only affecting entering an inventory purchase and not purchases using COGS/expense accounts.
We have had issues over the years with inventory. MYOB giving crazy inventory figures all of the sudden.

Hi C_F,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum.
We appreciate you expressing your concern to us. You can check the Item Profile for an affected item. If you use "I inventory" for the item, then this normal behavior, the purchase goes to Inventory and the COGS is calculated as each item is sold. If using "I buy" and or "I sell" check the setting for Expense Account.
I hope this helps. Please contact us again if you have questions or concerns. We are happy to help.
