ABA file sorting
Hi
Is there a way to sort aba file the same as the payroll report? It's very hard to cross-check if the payroll report has a different order than the aba file.

Hi jorge,
There's no feature in MYOB to sort the ABA file in the same order as the payroll report. What you can do is to on the AccountRight Ideas Exchange board so that the feature sort ABA file will be considered for future enhancements.

Hi,
It's not perfect, and you might already be doing it, but you can open the aba file from excel and choose the 'fixed width' delimiter option and insert one of the delimiter lines before the names. This at least allows you to sort by first name, instead of employee reference number. I've never used the ABA file for any comparisons so I don't know if this will let you do what you're wanting to do.
I too have had this issue suddenly start with my ABA files but only payment batches as we don't use MYOB for Payroll.
This morning for the first time I finally worked out how to fix the problem with a very easy solution!
Once you have entered all your payments and before you create the ABA file, sort in Alphabetical order.
DO NOT tick the ALL box, INSTEAD tick each individual payment (should already be in alphabetical order) and when you upload the file in the bank it will be in the same order.
