Prefilled IAS not balancing with MYOB reports

Hi,

For the first time I've noticed that when I go the ATO Portal to submit my IAS report the amounts are prefilled for July. There is a $280 difference for the gross wages for my payroll summary report and the prefilled report (which is short). The tax amount is correct. I have no idea how to work out what categories haven't been reported which seem to total  $70 per week. When I look at the payroll categories everything appears to be assigned correctly. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Kind regards

Jenny

  • Hi CJL05

I was corresponding with MYOB and they had me check all my settings for Single Touch Payroll for Salary Sacrifice and they were all fine.  No solution was found.

I spoke to my accountant and he told me to keep overriding the pre fill amount.  I do know that it is the salary sacrifice that isn't being picked up in the prefill amount so at least I know exactly what it is come the end of the financial year.  I am hoping by then there is a fix made by either MYOB or the ATO.

If you find anything else out, I would appreceiat an update too.  Thanks

    Hi FFTITIC

Thanks for posting your concern in the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your IAS/BAS information not being filled with the correct information. If you haven't yet checked the "Set up Activity Statement Fields" under the settings mentioned in my previous response to this thread, I recommend making sure that it is set correctly in that window.

Let us know if you require any further assistance with this.

    Thanks,
    Genreve

    Hi Genreve

I have checked my settings in W1 and Salary Sacrifice isn't selected.  If I tick them it reduced the amount on the BAS form but then doesn't match my figures on the MYOB payroll report that includes them as part of the gross.

So my question is, should they be ticked in the settings or not.

Thank you for your response to my question.

    Hi Genreve,

What is the BAS landing page? Is that in MYOB? I pay via the ATO Business portal not via MYOB.

    Warm regards

    Hi FFTITIC

    Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you which ones should be included and which ones to exclude as this is considered financial advice. I recommend speaking with an accountant. We are here to help you to fix any issues in the application or point you in the right direction. However, you can let us know if the application provides a different value than the data it needs to translate.

Feel free to post again if you require any further help.

    Thanks

Perhaps I'm not reading the question right but Salary sacrifice amounts are not reported at W1 and hence correctly not included in the pre-fill from ATO

W1 is reporting taxable wage or earnings that are subject to withholding... salary sacrifice therefore not included
