STP Reports don't match payroll summary etc

Hello All.  Just subscribed to the STP payroll only programme.

I processed a wage payment for $5k- but it didn't go through to the ATO reporting bit.

After several hours on the Message Us online chat and double checking I had done everything correctly, I did a 'send update' for $0 and then did a second dummy run for $100 and it went through correctly.

The operator says I should process another payrun for the orginal amount, because it's now miraculously working.

However, my concern is that right now my payroll summary, activity and register reports show a wage total of $5100.  I'm afraid if I do another pay run of the original amount of $5000 so that the ATO STP Reporting total is correct - then my reports will be overstating.

After almost five hours on the Message Us chat, I and whoever was on the other line have conceded that they don't understand why I am concerned about that my reports will show someone got paid $10100 dollars today ibut the ATO thinks it will be only $5100 and recommended I consult this forum for an answer.

Can anyone explain what the chat person couldn't?

    Hi Anne23

Thank you for your post. I'd like to extend you a warm welcome to the Community Forum. I hope you find it a valuable resource.

If you set up STP after processing the payment ($5000), this will not show under the STP reporting center. However, this will be automatically reported to the ATO when you process your next pay. This can be checked when you run your YTD verification report.

In case you want to reverse the dummy payrun, kindly refer to the Help Article.
