Feedback as promised:
I had our IT guy look at it as he was in the office doing some other work and asked him to look at it.
These are the steps he performed:
- Cleared the Windows cache
- Cleared Temp under AppData
- I restarted the PC
- After a few seconds of correctly displaying the window, it bombed out and the red X came up followed by a separate window containing the message "Something's gone wrong and AccountRight needs to close. We're really sorry. Errors like these are usually one-offs, but if you keep having problems, check for a solution."
So, still no joy.

That error with the red X and the "Something went wrong and AccountRight needs to close" message can sometimes happen due to a system or file issue.
