  • Hi InTuneMusic , thanks for the feedback, we are monitoring the change closely. I appreciate you understand its an ATO requirement but still note the impact this has to our customers.

SDuddy it is inactivity 'in the product'. So if you were in Excel and not in the MYOB software it would still count as inactive.

I also really hope this isn't a way to lower MYOB Bandwidth usage by kicking inactive users.

The amount of spinning blue wheels of death we have to wait through every day is rage inducing.

When timed out and need to log back in, does the 2FA still occur?

Hi Rob_A , no 2FA, it will only be your email and password to log back in.
The only scenario where the 2 crossover would be if you left your MYOB software open overnight, then first thing the next day when you access the software after 'inactivity' you would need to do both 2FA and email/password.
      Cheers, Mike

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I do think that 20 - 30 is a little restrictive. I believe Xero has a time out of 60 minutes which would be more acceptable.

It started today and is already driving the team insane. 20-30 mins (honestly seems like 5 mins sometimes) is way too short and beyond STUPID when we are all in our own private offices. Every time we get off the phone, we are locked out again. There absolutely needs to be a way to extend this to an hour or beyond. If not an ATO requirement (others are hinting it isn't), then just give us the choice to use it or not.

Hi InTuneMusic , thank you for the screenshots, this is helpful for us to investigate. We have rolled back the inactivity change for AccountRight due to the crashing you have shown. If you close and re-open AR it should pick up the update that we have rolled this back.

Can I confirm, in your process, did you get the error immediately after clicking sign back in, or did you still have the prompt to enter your password?

        Hello MikeG1

        We were prompted for password.

AR logged back in then we got the error message

Time to switch to a different provider, MYOB is getting worse every day. Wait until you have to upgrade and provide all your personal information just to be able to email an invoice. MYOB is a joke.

Totally agree.....this has to be the most annoying update ever........at least let it time out after 4hrs or so, not every 20-30 mins. With various files on different computers, this is a complete waste of time. I should be charging MYOB for the extra work.

  • In complete agreement. We are unfortunately in the position where we must research alternatives now after 20 years as a MYOB customer. It is absolutely making our business significantly less efficient which is the opposite of what your accounting software should do.

  • Also registering a complaint regarding this. Timing out in 20 minutes bad but also its timing out before 20 minutes! How are we supposed to work on MYOB and admin needed to do things /other programs similtaneously when it times out! Timed out less 10 minutes before could complete payroll process. Times out from desktop online switching from desktop to web version. Needs to change asap
