Adding/Editing A Column in the Purchase Register

Hi, does anyone know how to add/edit a column in the Supplier Purchase Register, to allow viewing of individual item's GL/Account Code, so it saves as a template to view for all suppliers in each register?

    Hi donac,

Thanks for the screenshot. You can’t directly change or edit the Purchase Register window, but you can customize the Purchase Register report to add the columns you need and then save it as a template. Customising reports

Hi Earl! Thank you for the advice! We are trying to run a range of reports, however the Account Code is not available to select from. Would it be under another name and would it be in a PO Register report?

    Many thanks again!

    Hi donac,

Great follow‑up question! In AccountRight, the Account Code field isn’t currently available as a column you can add to the Purchase Register (or PO Register) report – it also doesn’t appear under another name in that report’s available columns list. That’s a limitation of the current report layout, similar to how some other fields (like Job) also aren’t exposed as extra columns there.

If you specifically need to see transactions by account code, the best options are the Accounts reports, for example:

    • Reports > Accounts > General Ledger [Detail] – shows all postings grouped by account, with opening balance, movements and closing balance. You can include the Account No. column and sort/filter by that.

    • Reports > Accounts > Account Transactions [Accrual] / [Cash] – lists the transactions posted to each account; again you can filter by date range and account and then export to Excel if needed.

For a bit more on the available purchases reports, this help article is handy:

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Earl
