Amount (FX)

Hi

I am spending an excessive amount of time manually transferring reports from NZD to another supplier's currency (AUD, USD, etc.). Is there a way to generate the report with the overseas supplier's currency without having to change each line manually? MYOB has been around for 35 years, and I hope this issue has been resolved and that it is simply user error. When I run a Purchases report—specifically Supplier - Purchases [Supplier detail]—to match my system with the statements from the overseas supplier, I want that report to display the amounts in the supplier's currency instead of NZD. I would have expected that the Show/Hide columns feature would include an option for "Amount (FX)," but I am unable to find it. There are numerous other options available, but the crucial one—the amount in the supplier's currency—is missing. I really hope that this is just a misunderstanding on my part regarding how to generate the correct report. If not, I am curious why this feature hasn't been implemented yet after 35 years of operation.

When I ask Google, it gives me the option below, but how am I supposed to choose if it is not available?

I have reviewed your community site to ensure I have addressed everything before expressing my frustration. I noticed that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue; I've raised it before, but it still hasn't been resolved. I tried the solution suggested by the MYOB Moderator to another customer (below), but unfortunately, that option is also flawed. I was initially excited to see the currency option, thinking this message wouldn't be necessary. However, I later found that transactions are still displayed in NZD, even after selecting AUD.

The report indicates that amounts are displayed in AUD (below), but it clearly states that the amounts are calculated in NZD. This creates confusion for the customer, as the currency shown is AUD while the calculations are based on NZD. What is the purpose of this report if it presents information in such a contradictory manner?

if this was indeed the FX AUD amount it would be 2208.52

The AUD customer invoice below in AUD

This should be 2208.52

I hope this matter will be addressed soon, as it is becoming very frustrating. We have this package to make daily operations easier, not more time-consuming.

Thanks

Hi Sonja76 , not sure if this helps, but the option to "Display in originating currency", found on the right of the currency selection on the Filters toolbar, governs the reported values, so you can get a report in your home currency, which (for receivables/payables) reconciles to your GL, or in the transaction (originating) currency, which is what your customer/supplier knows. The currency symbol on each line is always the currency of the transaction itself, regardless of the report's currency.
