General Ledger Detail for closed periods

Hi,

We migrated to account right online a few years ago and have since found that detail for G/L accounts is not available for closed periods.  Is it possible to retain detail when closing a Fin Year please?

Thanks

Sam

  • Hi Sam_P

The General Ledger reports (Summary or Detail) can only be run for current and future financial years, previously closed financial years are not possible. You can see what financial year your company file is in via Setup>>Company Information.

If you are needing to review that General Ledger report for a previously closed financial year you could look at restoring a backup prior to closing that financial year.

Alternatively, depending on the information you want to see, you could look at running the Account Transactions [Accrual] report (Reports>>Accounts>>Account Transaction [Accrual])

      Thank you Steven.

Will the transactions stay visible in this report forever?

      Regards

      Sam

        Hi Sam_P

The transactions would always stay visible in the backup files restored locally for those specific financial years.  As long as you have the backups for previous years, you can retrieve any information you want.
