Hi Maria6062,
I get what you're after. You want your user to be able to run the Job Activity Report without giving them access to all the payroll info. Good news: giving access to Accounts Reporting won't automatically open up payroll details unless the payroll sections are ticked in Manage Roles, so you're sweet there. And yep, you can customise reports. To show just what you need, here's a link with info about customising reports: Customising reports.

Sai
Good morning Sai
Thank you so much for your reply. The Customising reports is wonderful and I have shared it with our team who will find this feature very useful.
In regard to the Accounts Reporting, this does not appear on Setup, User Access, Company file roles. We are running MYOB AccountsRight. We basically need to be able to run a report filtering on the Job Code for purchase information.
Kind regards.

Hey Maria6062,
Love that the customising reports info hit the spot and that you have already shared it with the team. In AccountRight, to keep payroll reports out of reach while still letting them run those Job Code purchase reports, you can do this:
- Go to Setup > User Access
- Open the User Access window and click Manage Roles
- Select the role
- Click Reports for that role
- In the report groups, untick Payroll so they can't access payroll reports
You can also check this link about managing users.
Cheers,
Doreen

Thank you Doreen_P
I have done what you advised above and tested. When clicking on our Wages and Salaries Account Code you can still see what a person received in Wages and Salaries however, you cannot drill down into payroll. Are we able to restrict access to payroll Account Codes?
Your assistance is much appreciated.
Thank you again.

Hi Maria6062,
That certainly sounds like a roadblock. In AccountRight, you can remove access to Payroll reports and payroll windows, but you can’t hide specific general ledger accounts (like Wages and Salaries) from someone who still has access to the Accounts area and financial reports.
So for that role:
- They’ll still see the balance in the Wages and Salaries account, and in reports like the profit & loss.
- They just can’t drill into the payroll transaction detail, which is the current limit of what we can lock down.
If you truly don’t want them to see total wages at all, the only option in AccountRight is to remove or reduce their access to Accounts/financial reports altogether, and instead provide them only with the specific job or operational reports they need (run by someone with higher access).
For reference on what can be controlled by role and report group, these might help:
- Set up user access (AccountRight): https://help.myob.com/wiki/display/ar/Set+up+user+access
- Setting up and creating roles: https://help.myob.com/wiki/display/ar/Set+up+roles
