How do I change ownership of my own file

    Hi RhondaMP,

     

    That's totally not fair and you've got every reason to feel annoyed about it. No one wants their file ownership to changed without their knowledge. No worries, we’re here to help you sort it out and fix things up. You can totally take back the ownership of the file by filling out a change of details form. You'll need to complete the form, send it back to our team via email, and we’ll take care of the rest for you.

Hi Rhonda

We are in exactly the same position and the forms don't seem appropriate for the change.

Our accountants also added themselves without permission.

Did you manage to sort out the problem and if so how?

Were you able to contact MYOB and have an actual conversation with someone?

    It's a bit like trying to cancel a subscription to MYOB.

    Not helpful at all and takes so much time and effort.

    I'm stil working through the process.  There is a form to fill out but proving who I am as the owner of the file for 9 years is difficult.  I have to get a full ASIC statement showing the names of directors to prove I am the owner of my own business and always have been.  I'm a sole trader so there are no directors.  

    I'm almost to the point where I feel like reporting the accounting firm that stole my file.  I'm not sure how that would stand with the TPB considering I have never been a client of the firm and never will be.

      I was hopeful of a quick solution...seems that isn't going to be the case.

      I have found dealing with MYOB over the years has become increasing difficult.  Things were so much easier when I started using MYOB and was able to phone for support.

      I'm starting to wonder if the easiest option would be to cancel the subscription and start as a 'new customer'.

       

      Just a thought, maybe an ASIC Business name search or alternatively an ABN printout - certified, may assist.
