There are so many occupation codes that the ATO list on that link as the code and they are not available in MYOB. This is a MYOB issue that requires urgent attention. I lodged yesterday using 999000 and typed Electrician so that I could lodge - unsure yet if the ATO will accept it but the lodgment was not rejected.
Hi All,
use of any of the following codes (which have been end-dated by the ATO prior to the commencement of this financial year) will result in the occupation code being changed by the ATO to 999000 - OCCUPATION NOT LISTED.
- 223311
- 341111
- 261399
- 234999
- 311299
- 399999
Subsequently, the occupation codes listed above are not available for use in the software.
If prefilling a return from ATO data includes one of these occupation codes, it's important to change to a relevant code - otherwise the above mentioned code will be used by the ATO.
The ATO have confirmed this an issue with their system and advised software developers accordingly, and the relevant changes as required have been made. However, the ATO public facing website has yet to be updated.
