Thankyou everyone for your input, I now know I am not crazy. I pay a monthly subscription and as such I am supported. Still have problem recording deposits. I have found however that I can spend a negative sum that records as a receipt. Very messy and definitely not a long term solution and could lead to many accounting errors.
That's a good idea with the negative spend money.

hello MYOB users...my call was successful and as you all have different issues and products you may need to call 1300 555 123, yourself. What MYOB (John) did for me was team viewer remote session , he checked company file...by offline and then he changed mine (product) to accountright plus (was standard) then he did a backup and restored the backup...all working now!! perhaps the patch from Friday 16/1/26 and the earlier update is not compatible to very old versions (premier converted to account right)
