Importing and exporting can be tricky, esp when you start out. Spend some time reading the Support notes in the Support area on importing and exporting. You can certainly export and import the same data from one file to the other, provided the 'elements' are the same in both files. By 'elements' I mean things like the Supplier card, the items, the accounts etc.
FYI you cannot import 'reports'. You can only import data that has been manually created or exported using the File Import Export wizard. See under File > Import Export Assistant.
