Airtasker >> myob solo

Hi there.

What is the best way to invoice out for jobs through Airtasker?

I'm new to Myob solo so forgive me for the question if it has already showed up here somewhere.

1. I'm trying to navigate in understanding how to lodge the full amount > minus AT fee which gets taken out before I receive income.

2. Any idiot proof help would be greatly appreciated.

3. Is one able to create an airtasker invoice for the whole month of tasks as one invoice or these should be done separately ?

Please advise

BR

Rob

  • Hey there ComeFixit - welcome to the Community! So glad you're here 🙌

I think we can break down this into a few areas, and you'd be welcome to tweak how you reconcile things in Solo based on your tastes and what feels smoothest - no such thing as a silly question here!

First, I'd recommend checking the kind of invoicing functionality that Airtasker provides. As in, if they have an invoice process of their own to demonstrate how the money is charged and gets to you, recognizing that on the Solo side in the form of a totally new invoice might feel like a duplication of effort.

If you have our "Connected Accounts" feature enabled, this feature will smart match incoming transactions into your account to be declared as income and/or expenses. If Airtasker are sending you that money, with the "handling fee" they charge already removed, it should ideally be as simple as using that feature to sit back and let the admin flow!

Lastly though, I think something to consider here is the tax time records and what you'd need to keep track of - and for this I'd recommend chatting to your accountant or financial advisor. They'd be best suited to answer questions about what you'd need to keep a hold of.

If I can help with any other Solo specific questions though, please do let me know! This is a really fascinating use case and we'd be more than happy to answer anything else that comes to mind ☺️
