ANZ Business accounts can't be linked

Hi, when I try to connect my accounts to SOLO, my two business accounts come up as 'unavailable'.  I've spent 30+ minutes on the phone with ANZ business team and they can't work out what is wrong.  I have looked over the 'open banking' information that you send everyone else and according to that information there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to link the accounts.  It is definitely not worth me having solo if I can't link these accounts.  Would appreciate anything else you can suggest or help with to fix this issue asap.  Thanks.

  • Thought I'd update my process on this to help others - it has taken 3 DAYS!!!  Yikes.  I thought I was registered for internet banking with the business accounts because I could see the business accounts on my ANZ accounts online.  However you actually have to fill in a 'business internet banking authorisation' form and even though it is my business, I had to authorise myself on this form, sign it and send it back.  Then ANZ set up business banking for me.  I still couldn't connect the accounts on MYOB, so I went back onto ANZ and tried to work out what was going on.  I logged in to my banking online, there was now a drop down menu and I could select my business account, then had to go into 'settings', 'manage users', I could see myself as an administrator, but had to select 'edit' on my name and tick 'data sharing' as it was not selected - it is a crazy process, especially considering it's my business and I'm the only one on it, however I FINALLY got the accounts linked to MYOB solo.  Hope this helps others!

  • After multiple hours on the phone to ANZ, turns out I can't use 'open banking' with these business accounts.  Not sure if it's because of how we have the account set up, or if it's the actual account, they weren't overly helpful.

So my question now is, if I can't use SOLO with these business banking accounts (I think because we've set it up as a NFP even though I'm the only one on the account and have full access to everything, it won't allow open banking) - so is there another option for me or not?  What are other NFP / Incorporated associations using for their finances??  What an annoying super frustrating day!!!! Help would be appreciated!

  • Hey there jac1980 - so glad you've reached out! Thanks for dropping us a line.

This sounds really tricky! I'd like to take a moment to validate any frustration you're feeling, I can imagine just how frustrating it would get trying to connect and not getting a valid answer.

When it comes to Open Banking, it looks like ANZ have a number of different eligibility criteria (both at a personal level, and a business level). Based on what they're describing, it sounds like you might have a specific business account type with ANZ that they don't allow Open Banking to be enabled on?

I've included a link here to the complete breakdown of their Open Banking eligibility criteria. I can see that you've also raised a chat in our Digital assistant, and my teammate Hannah sent a message last night to grab some more details about your Solo account. I'd recommend chatting with us there so we can take a deeper look at your account and see if we have any additional data available in the backend ☺️

Thanks again for chatting with us! I'm sorry to hear that you've been getting run around trying to get a clear answer, but we'll do everything we can to point you in the right direction! Looking forward to hearing from you soon 🔜

Hey jac1980 - we're so glad you made it, and thanks for sharing these handy tips! It's definitely a bit of a process enabling Open Banking on the bank's side, and we try to keep track of all the banks and their individual rules. Really appreciate you sharing this for any future ANZ customers 🙌
