I also had trouble setting up my bank account in Solo, but after speaking with my bank, I found out it was an issue with my account. I just needed to update my permission settings.
Appreciate you sharing your experience akimfield_dev!
Sometimes, the trick to getting connected isn’t on Solo’s side but in your bank’s settings—so it’s awesome you figured it out.
For anyone else hitting a roadblock, it’s worth checking if your account is eligible. Older accounts (especially pre-July 2023) or ones your bank no longer offers might not be set up for Open Banking. Most business and personal accounts should work, but joint accounts can be a bit trickier and may need consent from all account holders, depending on your bank.
If you're still running into issues, a quick chat with your bank to confirm your account’s Open Banking status could help get things moving. And if any other Solmates out there have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re in this together!

Great question spowerdeen_23! I totally get how this can be a bit confusing.
Connected Accounts is what we call the place in Solo where all your bank data is securely stored and synced.
Open Banking is the secure system that allows you to share your banking data with trusted apps like Solo. It’s part of Australia’s Consumer Data Right (CDR), which gives you control over who can access your financial information.
Your bank enables Open Banking to help you seamlessly connect and manage your finances in Solo—making things easier and more automated for you! 🚀
