Connect bank feeds using classic bank feeds

Can a Westpac bank feed be established using the classic bank feed process because the authorised bank user uses a SecurID token and cannot complete mobile authentication?

In the classic method, MYOB generates a number which you can copy.  In Westpac, you select bank feeds, insert the number, and when everything aligns, your bank feeds work.

In the new method, MYOB pushed me through to the Westpac portal, where I am asked for my mobile number, but I don't use a mobile for security, I use a token, so new bank feeds can no longer be added.

Thanks

Yvette

  • Hi YML,

Thanks for explaining that so clearly. Yes, if the Open Banking setup isn’t suitable because the authorised bank user uses a security token instead of mobile authentication, you can still try setting up the Westpac feed using the classic bank feed method. In the Banking Hub, click Connect bank feed, then choose Another method and select WBC (Westpac). MYOB will generate the bank authorisation reference number for you, which you can then enter in Westpac Online Banking to complete the application

If the issue is happening on Westpac’s own login or authentication screens, Westpac will need to confirm what they support for token-based users, as MYOB can’t change the bank’s security process from our side.

    Regards,
    Earl

    Thanks Earl

Neither the desktop version nor the browser version give me an option to choose Another method

Update : there are additional fields in the browser version for new bank accounts, which need to be completed for the bank account to show up in the list of "Accounts without bank connections".  Once the account shows up there (there will be a delay), you can select the account, and the next screen gives you the "Other" option.  With that beautiful code, which you can pop into the Westpac portal bank feed link.
