Hiya Danielbum 👋
Great questions! Let’s break them down!
- Adding NDIS info to a client’s details: A lot of our NDIS Solmates include the participant number in the customer name field (e.g. “Peter Piper – NDIS 123456”). You can also pop important dates or service details into the item descriptions on your invoice, and use the Notes section at the bottom of your invoice for anything that doesn’t quite fit elsewhere. It’s flexible on purpose, so you can make it work for your setup.
-
Preparing a BAS and reporting GST collected to the ATO: Solo doesn’t lodge BAS for you, but it does help you gather the info you’ll need. If you’re registered for GST, you’ll use Solo’s reports (more on this below) to figure out how much GST you’ve collected on your sales, and how much you’ve paid on your expenses. You’ll then lodge your BAS via the ATO. The ATO’s got a good explainer here if you want to dig deeper.
- Bank reconciliation: Can I ask a clarifying question here — have you used Solo's 'Connected Accounts' feature to link your bank accounts(which enables Solo to auto-magically match your expenses and paid invoices), or have you been manually marking expense and invoices as paid?
To generate the report needed for your BAS, go to 'More' > 'Reports' > 'GST return' and select the date range and file type to export the data.
N.B.: The 'GST return' report is only available if you've registered to pay GST
There's a bit to chew on there, so let us know about #3 and if you have any follow up questions about the rest and we'll be around to help out.
