Solo App

I’m trying to link my commbank partnership business account to solo and it won’t let me. Any suggestions?

  • Thank you. I ended up having to make myself a business data sharing delegate then it let me link it.

  • Hey Nic_MB I'd love to help you get to the bottom of this! Are you referring to a specific type of bank account called a 'partnership business account' or do you mean a joint account?

Yes it’s a joint account. CommBank business account.

    Hey Nic_MB!

To connect a bank account in Solo, we tap into a service called "Open Banking", think of it like long stretching digital cables that connect all the banks into Solo. It's a relatively new service (think around 2020-21), so depending on the bank and the account type they can have varying rules on how to enable Open Banking.

For joint accounts, and sometimes business accounts, they'll request that a "nominated representative" is enabled before you can request Open Banking permissions to be enabled. I've had a quick look at Commbank's website here, and they've got some instructions on what you'll need to complete to get started: https://www.commbank.com.au/banking/open-banking/data-sharing-from-cba.html

The good news is, once all the permissions side details are squared off on the Commbank side, we can help you with all things Solo! 🙌
