G'day Backflow 👋
I think you're referring to customer statements, a summary you can send to your own customers showing invoices issued, what’s been paid, and what’s still outstanding.
If I'm on the right track then it's not that you’re not missing a hidden button, Solo doesn’t currently have a built‑in “customer statements” feature (or a per‑customer ledger view) like MYOB Business Lite/Pro.Not to worry, I think I have the ingredients of a good workaround here. Let me know if you think it can work for you.
Customer statements for Solo:
- Go to Money in → View all invoices
- Use a combination of the sort (Newest/Oldest), filter (All, Unpaid, Overdue, Paid, etc.) and entering the customer's name in the search bar to narrow down the details you want the “statement” to cover.
- Manually scan the list for that customer’s invoices and note down:
- Invoice number
- Invoice date
- Amount
- Whether you’ve already marked it as paid or it’s still unpaid
It'll look a little bit like this:
Once you’ve gathered what you need, you can drop it into a quick email like:
Hi Vincent van Venn,
Here’s a summary of your account for <date range>:
– Invoice #29 (1 Feb): $82.50 outstanding
– Invoice #47 (7 Apr): $2 outstanding
– Invoice #32 (15 Mar): $600 paidTotal currently due: $84.50
Let me know if you’d like copies of any invoices.
Best Wishes and Warmest Regards,
Billiam BackflowIt’s not automated, I know but after a couple of runs you’ll get into a rhythm and it becomes pretty quick. Bonus is your customers get a clear way to square things up. Worth a shot?
