Multiple line addresses for contacts

Hi,

I'm a new MYOB user and setting up my contacts.

When I have more than the standard elements for an address, it comes out as a continuous line only broken by the field width limit. I have tried 'enter' where I need a line break but that's not working.

For example, how do I format this if I want to insert it in the address field for an individual:

Managing Director

ABCXYZ Pty Ltd

Level 1, Building 5

123 Alphabet Street

Is there a key I should hit for a line break?

    Hi SpecoDeTomaso,

Welcome to MYOB, and great question. There isn’t a key you can use to force a manual line break in that contact address field, so pressing Enter won’t split it into separate lines.

The best option is to use the available address lines in the contact where possible, rather than trying to add extra breaks inside one field. If it helps, keep the contact’s name or business name in the name fields, then use the address lines just for the actual address details.

    Regards,

    Sai

    Thanks for your reply.

Surely MYOB can do this as an update? Nothing complex to it.

It is normal business practice to address a quote or invoice to an individual contact and include position title, business name and address. Also it is courtesy to a valued client.

    Hi SpecoDeTomaso

Fair call, that sort of formatting would definitely be handy.

It’s something the team could look at, though whether it gets picked up would come down to demand and overall impact. If you’d like to push for it, the Ideas Exchange is the best spot to raise it.
