ABA Files

Hi anyone/ everyone

I (am new and) have no luck with raising chatr support and I urgently need to run payroll.

I need to configure a bank account to take ABA files (Asutralia)

It is asking for bank code & direct user entry ID

[I think bank code may be the 3 letter abbreviation for the bank? I.e. ANZ?  But no idea about the rest and obviously can't make a mistak]

The bank can't help me because it is apparently NOT the BSB or SWIFT code.

I can't run payroll without completing this setup, so employees are not getting paid.

It is urgent if anyone can advise

  • Hi javajack

Thanks for your post. You're correct that the Bank code is the 3 letter abbreviation for your bank, eg ANZ. The Direct entry user ID is provided by your bank, you will need to contact ANZ for this.

Please let me know if you need further help.

    • Hi

      Thanks.

However thebank does not know what a 'direct userentry ID' is - AND I have asked my other bank (St George) and they don't know either.

Might it be my 'customer number' as per online banking perhaps?

      Thanks

        Hi javajack

I found this information in the St George Business banking online PDF:

And this information for ANZ Import a payment file:

If you are not sure about the Direct entry user ID you will need to speak to your bank.

Please let me know if you need further help.
