Category matching from Bank Transactions not saving — matches revert to unallocated on refresh

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with matching bank transactions to categories in MYOB Business Lite that I know others have hit too based on the threads I've seen here.

When I go to Bank Transactions and match an unmatched transaction to a category (whether I accept the AI/purple sparkle suggestion or manually pick the category myself), it appears to save successfully. But when I refresh the page, the transaction is right back there as unallocated, as if nothing happened.

Interestingly, transactions that auto-match to an existing record (black sparkle) work perfectly fine and stick. It's only the "match to category" pathway that's broken — the one where MYOB is supposed to create a Spend Money or Receive Money record in the background automatically.

I'm aware MYOB have acknowledged a bug on their support page related to this, and the workaround of manually creating a Spend Money record first and then matching to it does work. But this used to work directly from the Bank Transactions screen before the updated page was rolled out, and it's a significant extra step for every single transaction.

Has anyone heard anything about when this is likely to be fixed? Happy to provide any additional detail if it helps.

    Hey PF66,

     

    Really appreciate how thoroughly you’ve described what’s happening with matching your bank transactions. There haven’t been any reported issues around matched transactions reverting back to unallocated, so it’s worth checking the following to see if it helps:

     

    • Make sure the Save progress button is clicked after matching transactions
    • Set a lock date in Business details so transactions up to that date can’t be changed or removed
