Child Support Payments

I am terminating an employee today and cannot find where I can deduct his final child support deduction from his termination pay?  Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks Dot

    Hi Shooby58,

I can see how adding a child support deduction to a final pay can make the process a little more complex. You’ll need to set up or assign a child support deduction pay item to the employee, then process the final pay and check that the deduction appears. If it doesn’t appear, or the final pay includes an employment termination payment, it’s best to check the deduction amount against the child support notice with Services Australia or your accountant before recording the pay.

For steps, see Child support deductions and Terminate an employee in Single Touch Payroll reporting.
