Payday Super

Hi all,

Our pay week ends C.O.B each Sunday and I prepare our payroll every Monday and change the Pay Date to the following Thursday.

This gives our employees a pay slip to check for any possible errors and if needed, their pay can be adjusted before payment is processed.

When Payday Super is active, will the Super payment be automatically paid on the Monday that the pay is prepared or on the Thursday when the pay is actually paid to the employee?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Cheers Billingsley

  • Hi Billingsley15,

That's a tricky one! When Payday Super comes in, super won’t be automatically paid when you prepare the pay on Monday. MYOB uses the Pay Date on the pay run (in your case, Thursday) as the official date for super.

    Regards,
    Earl

If I could give this the thumb down, I would, because having to authorise it separately each and every pay run is a nuisance - especially in the situations above. Of course it’s for security, I presume, but even so, it’s one more step. I mean, obviously the figures are right because we’ve already approved them in Payroll. So I cannot see a reason why super should not go through (be paid) automatically.
