Barber Shop - How to handle sales

So this is probably a very dumb question and I apologise in advance.

Setting up a barber shop and we are new to business and all of this to be honest.

What I would like to do is at the end of each day just record my overall sales, am I able to do this and if yes how do I go about doing that noting as it currently stands I need to enter a 'customer'.  Do I just create a customer 'Daily Sales - Barber' 'Daily Sales - Cafe'

or

Do I have to create an entry for each and every sale, this seems counterintuitive so thinking I am probably closer with the above.

We are using Fresha as our booking and POS platform.

As I understand it our terminal sales from Fresha hit our bank account next day.  So I presume I go to Banking and Create a Receive Money Transaction with my contact being one of the above I am asking about.

This results in me having recorded the sales for the day and the deposit into the bank account.  Is there anything else I should be thinking of from this daily sales perspective?

Also, I will be having one 'sales' bank account and then a number of subsidiary bank accounts.  My plan is to move amounts out of the sales account and into those subsidiaries for future payments e.g. GST, Super, subscriptions, rent.  Is it appropriate for me to simply do all those transfers between accounts at bank level (not on MYOB) and then just do individual entries in MYOB into the individual bank accounts.  I am thinking yes because otherwise there would need to be journals that really aren't necessary.

Over to you all.

Sharon

    Hey PiccanteBarbers,

Congrats on opening your barber shop! You’re spot-on thinking about how to manage daily sales, set up a ‘Daily Sales’ contact, and sort your bank accounts for all those different payments like GST, super, and subscriptions. Using Fresha for bookings and POS plus keeping things efficient is the way to go, but before locking in your process, it’s a top idea to have a chat with your accountant. They’ll help make sure you’re ticking all the right boxes for tax and compliance, and help you avoid any curly surprises down the road.

    Cheers,
