Inventory

Hello GaryJohnson
If I understand your scenario correctly, you have items that you had previously sold but did not tick "I Inventory" originally. Now you are wanting to move those items into Inventory and are receiving that error as per your screenshot (thank you for including).
For AccountRight to accurately calculate the value of an inventory item, it does need to start with no transactions against the item. This allows the software to track and calculate the average costs of the item to ensure that the value shown is always correct. To avoid upsetting this calculation, AccountRight will not allow you to tick "I Inventory" if transactions have already been recorded against it in the past. I do understand this could be an inconveinence, but it is designed as such to ensure that items that are inventoried do always have an accurate value against them.
To get around this with the items you are now wanting to add to inventory, you will want to create a new Item Code. It is suggested that you edit the original Item Code by putting a 'ZZ' in front of it and make it inactive, so that it is not accidentally used again. I do hope this helps your current situation and will assist in future handling of new items.
