Downgrade of user permissions from MYOB Capture

Our field employees do not have any access to our MYOB account and MYOB Capture only lets them send receipts to our In Tray but the new MYOB Assist they need to have a login to our account to use it. This level of access to our system from staff that only send us receipts is unacceptable. 

Sorry Amanda, but this is not acceptable.  It is not appropriate to provide Create and Edit Access for these Users, and represents a security risk for my clients.  Low level staff did not require Create and Edit access to deliver documents using MYOB Capture.  Yet another example of why my clients are asking me to move their MYOB subscriptions to a proper, functional accounting software.  MYOB, you have disappointed me AGAIN.

I fully agree the MYOB Assist app. is not good as the level of security needed to just take a photo of a receipt is ridiculous. Every time they want to use it they need to log in with an email address then the password then the 2FA.  WHAT A JOKE JUST TO TAKE A PHOTO.  Having our employees able to have access to our customers as well in the invoices is unnecessary.  REALLY UNHAPPY with the Assist app.  Capture was excellent, saving time and getting the receipts needed from employees on land and sea.  Will need to rethink if MYOB is the best option for our businesses.  

Capture is good for getting the invoices needed from all level of employees, but Assis app requests to access the account. This doesn't work for us. we can't let all employees access the Account. Assis should be a new App, not replacement of Capture .

Yes, Please advise ASAP Amanda.  I have some extremely irate clients who have lost functionality overnight.  I have logged a Support request too and had no response.

I have been able to confirm with the team, when using the MYOB Assist app, if a customer wants a file user to upload receipts into the In Tray/Uploads, they must do so through Purchases access. 

If using MYOB Business Lite/Pro:

• In Tray/ Uploads lives under Purchases.
• To give access, you must assign the Purchases role.
• Reports are bundled → if a user has Purchases, they will also see:
  • Bills
  • In Tray
  • Supplier card activity
  • Standard Purchases reports (e.g. Bills by Supplier, Bills by Status).
• There is no way to untick “Reports → Purchases” separately.

If using MYOB AccountRight:

• Permissions are more granular.
• You can give a user Purchases access (to enter bills, use In Tray, etc.) and then untick Reports → Purchases.
• This means in ARL you can stop them from running supplier spend/analysis reports, while still letting them upload or enter bills.
• However if that user logins to the web (MYOB Business experience) they will have access to the MYOB Business reports listed above.

Thanks for the response Amanda, however these clients already have Purchases access.  Still not working :(

Can you make sure that their user login has 'Create and edit' selected in their access options. I've included a screenshot here for your reference.

You have just reposted the instructions for using the new app and have not listened to the concerns for taking the Capture app offline from November 1.

Currently, field staff not approved to access the MYOB file can upload receipts through the capture app with the LOWEST of permissions which is "contacts" and "read only".

Now MYOB wants to give these users higher access levels to be able to view accounting information and "create and edit" abilities. Absolutely mind blowing!!!!! 

I think MYOB needs to inform customers who are blindly moving from Capture to Assist that this is the consequence. Luckily we were smart enough to test this on a non-user account before deploying, unlike MYOBs software team. :/
