Prompting for "Upgrade or Open" is redundant
Not sure who else finds the MYOB Accounting Right upgrade process totally frustrating that I hope MYOB Dev or UX team would address. (Or someone please explain to me what I am missing, because I am an MYOB Admin and face this almost every month. The example and screenshots I use below relate to 2025.8 and 2025.9, but this frustrating process has occurred from the very first time I used MYOB Accounting Right years ago.)
Prompting for "Upgrade or Open" is redundant!
For example the message popup states "You've selected a 2025.8 company file. Do you want to upgrade the file and open it in AccountRight 2025.9? Help me decide" along with push buttons "Yes, upgrade to 2025.9" and "No, open it in 2025.8" and "Cancel".
Firstly, the "Cancel" button does nothing! So, why even have it appear in the window popup?
Secondly, "No, open it in 2025.8" merely takes the user back to the "MYOB Sign in to MYOB" page to enter "Email address*" and then through to popup "Update AccountRight to open this file" with two buttons "Update Now" and "Update Later". (I have already selected the older version from the previous pop up, so clearly "Update Later". So, this screen is redundant.
Anyway, if I select "Update Later", I face the "Recently opened company files" window. I click on the same company file and I am back at the popup "Update AccountRight to open this file" with two buttons "Update Now" and "Update Later".

Hopefully, your dev/UX team can start to see that this is a never-ending loop of the same screens.
Therefore, there is no point in offering the first popup screen that states "You've selected a 2025.8 company file. Do you want to upgrade the file and open it in AccountRight 2025.9? Help me decide" along with push buttons "Yes, upgrade to 2025.9" and "No, open it in 2025.8" and "Cancel" ---- because the only working option and valid process is to click "Yes, upgrade to 2025.9"!!!
Clearly, this proves that the two buttons on the right do NOT serve any useful purpose (other than to frustrate users), and this screen should be presented as a “WARNING: You’ve selected a 2025.8 company file. This company file needs to be updated before continuing. Please upgrade when all other users are logged out and it is convenient to upgrade the company file” with an accompanying “Cancel” button.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE remove the two redundant buttons and various looping screens.
