Hi Phil_mtc
Annual leave calculations use the prior 52 weeks to when the leave is being paid out, so with your dates mentioned I would think this is correct. I would think it would be using the week ending dates only? The 52 week calculation is a roving 52 weeks and changes every payrun.
Hi Jennie,
exactly my point, the calculation in this updated payroll is NOT correct as it does NOT include all pays from the prior 52 weeks, this is true based on both actual date (real time) & is even worse when you consider the 52 weeks should be calculated from the date payroll last run as opposed to todays actual date when processing payroll.
For yesterdays example:
Actual date was 26/03/2025
Payroll Processing date being the same
52 weeks going backwards should have included 27/03/2024 and did NOT include that payroll run in the gross YTD figures (as detected by my spreadsheet I run for exactly this reason)
If you consider the last time payroll was processed as the start date for the 52 week period, then this is even worse;
Yesterday was 26/03/2025
Last Payroll was 19/03/2025
52 weeks should have been 20/03/2024 to 19/03/2025
Gross YTD in payroll did NOT include paydays 20/03/2024 nor 27/03/2024 so in this case, the gross YTD was missing 2 x payroll runs.
I'm not counting actual weeks, I'm using a full Year (365 days) as my logic as surely that is the intent of the holidays act when it talks about Gross YTD - it's a full year between those dates otherwise potentially you will always be short changing your staff on what their earnings in an actual year are.
This is only a problem in the 2025.1 update, the 2024.3 program was calculating this correctly (well, it always matched my spreadsheet for the last 9 months or so prior to the update to 2025.1).
.
Cheers,
Phil
