The best way to do this is to process the employee’s final pay on their current profile first, then create a new employee profile for them as a casual employee. The employment status can’t be changed on the existing employee record, so a new profile is the usual workaround. Once the final pay has been completed, you can stop using the old profile and set up the new one with the correct employment status, start date, pay rate, hours, and leave settings. This final pay can also include any holiday pay or other final entitlements that need to be settled before moving them onto the new casual profile.
