Current Inventory Value Does not Match PO History.

We have a strange issue.

We started a new item code in 8/12/2022

We purchased the item, and the invoice value was $2818 for the purchase of 5500 Units.

When looking at the item register, the entry is shown with the correct quantity of 5500, the correct amount of $2818 , the correct On Hand Qty of 5500, but the Current Value has put it at $8148??

There is no previous history, 

Any hints as to why this is occuring?

we have seen it on a few item codes now.
